Milwaukee and Madison-based BankMyBiz.com has been selected to display its lending website in the Startup Spotlight at the South By Southwest 2014 conference in Austin, Texas from March 7 to 11.

The international conference asks just 40 companies to present their businesses in the spotlight area, from among thousands that apply, said Michael Adam, the website’s founder. The spotlight features businesses that have demonstrated particularly innovative concepts at the SXSW Startup Village.

BankMyBiz launched in September. The site, which functions similarly to social networks like Match.com, asks lenders and business owners to create profiles and then suggests matches using an algorithm. Users can post on their newsfeeds and explore other profiles.

“Just to be able to be there and represent our company in such a large venue … is going to be amazing,” Adam said. “Obviously we’re very proud to be a Wisconsin-based company, and we’re so happy just to be part of such an internationally acclaimed event.”
