Our local governments in Milwaukee need the opportunity to ask the voters if they’re willing to incur a 1% sales tax increase to leverage our local dollars for local priorities, including property tax relief.
Here in Milwaukee, we are growth-obsessed. From our vast number of corporate headquarters to our active entrepreneurship community, we are filled with talented people and companies – like the dozen ambitious businesses in our pilot Scalerator, an accelerated training program – who are hungry and primed for growth.
Recently, Dan Isenberg from Babson College visited Milwaukee and spoke to the Greater Milwaukee Committee's membership group and to an audience of entrepreneurs at OPEN MiKE. He said that the only ideas worth pursuing are the ones which one person, if not many, thinks are worthless. His point was that the best ideas aren't easily grasped; they require visionary thinking and, ultimately, a leap of faith.
