Republicans have mandate to get things done
The big story of the 2014 elections is the Republican pickup of at least seven Senate seats, putting it in the majority. The GOP also added more than 10 seats in the House embellishing its majority. Now President Obama must contend with both Houses of Congress firmly in the opposition's hands.
Exports will be key for automotive industry
One of the truly bright spots in the U.S. economy is the auto industry which had tanked in 2008-09 like never before. General Motors and Chrysler went bankrupt and had to be bailed out by the Federal Government. Even with Uncle Sam involved, Chrysler ended up as a division of Fiat, leaving us with only two major U.S. owned auto companies – GM and Ford.
