Milwaukee’s Water Technology District spurred $211.6 million in development

A new economic investment analysis of the Water Technology District in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood found that $211.6 million worth of development has occurred since 2012 when it became the epicenter of water technology and freshwater research.

Caterpillar to cut 10,000 jobs by 2018

Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar Inc. announced today that it is expecting to cut 4,000 to 5,000 jobs between now and the end of 2016, with most occurring this year. In total, the company plans to reduce its workforce by more than 10,000 through 2018 as part of a move to reduce annual costs by about $1.5 billion.

He runs approximately 40 miles a week, and is the president of the Milwaukee Running Group – OMG, an organization that celebrated its one-year anniversary on Sept. 1. (OMG stands for the Original Milwaukee Running Group; the “R” is silent.)

“There's other running groups in the area that are much larger than us, but they don't have a friend basis,” Bieser said. “Ours is friends and fun and social on equal parts with running.”
