The expanded space is on the second floor of the existing Aurora behavioral health Services clinic and will provide partial hospitalization for patients as well as intensive outpatient mental health programs.

It will be staffed by around 15 physicians and will allow the clinic to care for an additional 400 patients each year.

The expanded space opened on Oct. 10.

“The expansion of the Aurora Behavioral Health Services clinic on Port Washington Road is designed to increase access for care in this community,” said Pete Carlson, president of Aurora Behavioral Health Services. “There is an increasing demand for mental health services in our community, and by providing more access to care, we can help more people regain their independence and live full, rewarding lives.”

The added space at the North Shore clinic is one of three projects to expand Aurora’s behavioral health services in southeastern Wisconsin.

In October 2015, Aurora announced plans to add 18 inpatient beds, a parking structure and a new alumni house to its behavioral health campus in Wauwatosa and expand outpatient programs in Sheboygan. The changes to the behavioral health campus in Wauwatosa are expected to be completed in 2017.
