The convenience and portability of tablet devices has convinced many business executives and professionals to start using them in sales presentations and for onsite consulting services. The quandary many companies must deal with is how to adequately and efficiently organize their sales presentation content onto their tablet in an easy to use, cohesive and functional way. West Allis-based Media Dynamics Inc., has developed a sales presentation application for tablets that can solve many of those concerns.

“Mobile phones and tablets have become such pervasive tools in today’s business world that application development became just a natural extension of what we’ve already been doing,” said Ron Trilling, Media Dynamics partner. “We found that a lot of companies were seeing their sales representatives going out and purchasing tablet devices on their own and uploading everything in their sales repertoire including PDF files, videos, photographs and sales documents on their individual tablet devices. It wasn’t organized.”

Media Dynamics’ sales presentation application for tablets utilizes a custom-built platform that conveniently organizes sales presentation materials in one complete program, said John Platta, Media Dynamics partner.

“Companies were concerned with branding, organization and the cohesiveness of a presentation on the tablet devices, so we built everything they need in one place,” Platta said. “Tablets offered the convenience of mobility, but there was nothing on an enterprise level that could be utilized to give a successful, free flowing presentation. Companies were dealing with sales representatives flipping through a variety of folders and trying to access video, photographs or slide presentations from multiple locations on their tablet devices.”

The platform designed by Media Dynamics is a custom-built template that allows a company to indicate desired components to build in, Trilling said.

It also allows a sales representative to access all of the information without accessing the Internet.

“Sometimes presentations are given on a manufacturing floor or in a warehouse or other location where the wireless internet access isn’t the greatest,” Trilling said. “Our platform can be built for both Apple and Android-based tablet devices and can be used without Internet.”

The application can store sales materials including videos, PDFs, photographs, presentations, and even product spec sheets in different “buckets” on the application home page, Trilling said.

“Representatives can access whatever information they’ve uploaded to the application directly from one screen,” he said.

The application is sold as an enterprise distribution. Companies wishing to use the application on an iPad or iPad2 will need to secure an enterprise license from Apple. The enterprise license means the application is available on an individual basis for company devices and is not available for purchase in the Apple Store, Trilling said.

“We can work directly with a company to determine which components they need or want built in,” Trilling said. “We can also custom design the landing pages to match a company’s logo design for the optimal branding experience.”

The cost of the application is dependent on the complexity and depth of the application, Platta said.

“More and more companies are latching on to this technology,” Platta said. “We’re here to help make it easier for them to implement a cohesive sales strategy in their workforce. It’s a simple idea that is a lot more professional than some of the other methods that are just pieced together from different applications available on the tablets.”
