HKS Holdings LLC plans to develop a 5-story, 70-unit apartment building on a 0.65-acre site southeast of South Kinnickinnic Avenue and East Conway Street in Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood. Several buildings at that corner would be demolished to make way for the new building.
One third of the apartments will be studio units, one third will be one-bedroom units and one-third will be two-bedroom units, according to plans submitted to the city. The building will have 71 underground parking spaces and 9,000 square feet of first floor retail space, according to the plans.
Twenty percent of the apartments will be allocated for residents who earn 60 percent or less of the county’s median income.
Engberg Anderson is the architect for the project. The property manager for the apartment building will be The Kendal Group.
The project will be reviewed by the City Plan Commission during its meeting on Monday, Dec. 6.
