Apartment building planned for former Pizza Man site

Organizations:

Developer Robert Joseph, the owner of Joseph Property Developmet LLC, plans to build a four-story building with 39 market rate apartments and 6,000 square feet of retail space, at the former Pizza Man restaurant site northeast of North Avenue and Oakland Avenue on Milwaukee’s East Side.

The Pizza Man restaurant was destroyed by fire in early 2010. The owners are building a new Pizza Man restaurant at 2597 N. Downer Ave. on the East Side. The site at North and Oakland has been vacant since the fire.

Developers Blair Williams and Sean Phelan have been working on a plan for the development of the site and assembled a site that includes the vacant former Pizza Man site and two duplex properties just north of the site. Joseph has acquired the development rights for the project from Williams and Phelan and will construct the building.

“We put the deal together,” said Williams, who has worked on the deal for three years, just after the fire occurred. “Robert is going to build it and own it.”
