Angelic Bakehouse will move HQ from Waukesha to Cudahy

Organizations:

Waukesha-based Angelic Bakehouse Inc. plans to build a $3.4 million, 22,000-square-foot headquarters facility, with office and production space, at 3275 E. Layton Ave. in Cudahy.

The 3.78-acre site is part of the Iceport development site where several years ago a planned development of a multiple ice rink facility surrounded by commercial development failed. Construction of the Iceport was halted half-way through the project, which was later cancelled and then the structure was torn down. The only commercial development built on the site was a Walgreens store and a bank.

Angelic, formerly known as Cybros Inc., currently has 29 employees and plans to expand to 100 employees in three years, said executive vice president James Marino.

Construction is expected to begin in April and be complete in August, he said.

The location in Cudahy places Angelic close to other area food manufacturers and improves access to Chicago and points east, Marino said.

“We just think it’s a better location for us,” he said.

The company also considered sites in the Menomonee Valley in Milwaukee and in Menomonee Falls.
