AFP to honor philanthropists

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter has announced the honorees to be recognized at this year’s National Philanthropy Awards Event on Nov. 12.

In its 35th year, National Philanthropy Day salutes philanthropic efforts throughout southeastern Wisconsin and highlights donors, volunteers, staff members and nonprofits all working to strengthen area communities.

This year’s award winners are:

  • Frank and Pauline Fichtner, Leave a Legacy Award.
  • Jan Lennon, Todd Wehr Volunteer Award.
  • McKenna Nerone, Philanthropic Youth of Today Award.
  • Patrick Rath, Scott M. Cutlip Professional Fundraiser Award.
  • Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc., Wisconsin Organizational Philanthropy Award.
  • Kate and Don Wilson, Evan P. Helfaer Donor Award.

All recipients will accept their awards at the awards program and luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Pfister Hotel, located at 424 E. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee. Cost to attend is $60, and reservations can be made by calling Jeanne Rhodes, AFP administrator, at (262) 212-0273.

AFP expects about 600 attendees at this year’s awards program.
