Waukesha-based Weldall Mfg., Inc. has announced the acquisition of the assets of Slinger-based Mutz Manufacturing Inc. The facility at 400 Winfield Ct. in Slinger has been operating as Weldall Plant No. 3 since Sept. 29.
The expansion gives Weldall, a provider of medium to heavy weldments, machining and ancillary processing, over 245,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space and will help address the company’s growing customer requirements.
According to Weldall co-owner David Bahl Jr., Mutz’s former owner, John Mutz, is now working in sales for Weldall, and two people who were in charge of Mutz’s quality and supervision have retained their positions.
Bahl said Mutz’s approximate 15 employees have also been retained. Weldall had about 207 employees before the acquisition, and the company is currently looking to hire fitters, welders, machinists and large brake press operators at both locations.
“We look forward to incorporating Mutz’s 30-plus years of experience in providing high quality metal fabrications, into the Weldall portfolio,” said Zack Damuth, director of sales and marketing for Weldall.
