The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has not yet named a replacement for Brett Davis, who resigned as the state’s Medicaid Director in March.
Stephanie Smiley, spokesperson for DHS, said several state officials are working together to perform functions of the Medicaid Director position.
“DHS has not yet named a Medicaid Director,” said Smiley. “Functions of the Division Administrator/Medicaid Director position are currently being performed collaboratively by the Secretary’s Office and individuals within the Division of Health Care Access and Accountability (this is the Division that houses Medicaid and FoodShare), with the most critical functions of the role being performed by Secretary Kitty Rhoades, Deputy Secretary Kevin Moore, and Marlia Mattke, Deputy Administrator for the Division of Access and Accountability.”
Davis joined Madison-based WPS Health Insurance as its new Vice President of Provider Relations earlier this month.
