The Fittest Execs challenge, presented by BizTimes Media, seeks to foster the corporate wellness efforts in southeastern Wisconsin. Fittest Execs challenges executives and staff members through individual and team competitions.
This year more than 90 executives accepted the challenge and participated in the individual fitness competition. Participants competed in different categories: Female 25-39; Female 40-49; Female 50+; Male 25-39; Male 40-49; and Male 50+ and Most Improved (from 2010 participants).
Each top executive was put through a five-part fitness assessment to measure endurance, strength, flexibility and body makeup. Participants received complimentary health risk appraisal and blood work by Midland Health and complimentary fitness assessment and consultation by the Wisconsin Athletic Club. For the third year, companies were encouraged to nominate their organization for the Corporate Wellness Award.
The competition concluded with a celebratory awards event held on September 1, that included keynote speaker Dean Rosson, president and founder of Fit2Win, author, certified sports nutritionist and certified fitness trainer along with special guest speaker John Dettmann, director of strength and conditioning at UW-Madison.
