Madison-based Ascendant Holdings recently purchased a 21,534-square-foot, two-story building at 111 N. Main St. in downtown West Bend from Sheboygan-based Community Bank & Trust for $350,000, or about $16.25 per square foot.

The building was originally constructed in 1893 and has been expanded and renovated several times.

The bank took ownership of the building by foreclosure.

The building has a mix of office space, retail space and four apartments. The apartments are occupied but the commercial space is only 54 percent occupied. Tenants in the building include Robert W. Baird & Co. and Café Soeurette.

Patrick Gallagher and Matson Holbrook of Milwaukee-based Siegel-Gallagher Inc. brokered the sale of the building for Community Bank & Trust.

“Both buyer and seller were eager to complete the deal,” said Holbrook. “Downtown West Bend is seeing increased activity, and assets that feature multiple uses, as well as credit tenants like Baird, offer great opportunities.”
