Learn more about:

Although Monday was the deadline to enroll in 2015 Affordable Care Act coverage starting Jan. 1, Humana is accepting applications through Friday.

According to the private online health insurance exchange eHealth Inc., Wisconsin is one of 37 states in which at least one health insurance company is currently accepting health insurance applications for Affordable Care Act coverage beginning Jan. 1.

While Humana in Wisconsin is accepting applications through Friday, the deadlines of insurance companies in other states are taking place throughout the rest of the month up until Dec. 31.

It starts the first day of the second following month for those who enroll between the 16th and the last day of the month.

Those who don’t have health coverage during 2015 may have to pay a fee of 2 percent of their income or $325 per adult and $162.50 per child, whichever is more.
