The Equitable Bank will close Waukesha branch in August

Wauwatosa-based The Equitable Bank will close its branch at 21215 E. Moreland Blvd. in Waukesha this August. The bank recently notified customers of the closure, telling them that the branch’s last day of business will likely be Aug. 14.

“Last October, we were creating our new strategic plan and part of that was our need to improve our operating costs,” said Tom Sattler, the bank’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We will still have our branches in Delafield and Brookfield and our corporate headquarters in Wauwatosa – and we feel that we’ll be able to continue to service our customers.”

The Waukesha branch has six employees, and all of those workers will be absorbed into its other operations, Sattler said.

The bank owns the branch and is now negotiating its sale. Sattler declined to name the party that the bank is now negotiating with.
