The Whole Foods Market store in the Mayfair Collection development in Wauwatosa will open on Feb. 24, the Austin, Texas-based natural and organic supermarket store chain announced today.

The 47,563-square-foot Whole Foods store is part of the second phase of the Mayfair Collection mixed-use development, which is being built by Chicago-based HSA Commercial Real Estate northeast of U.S. Highway 45 and Burleigh Street.

The store will officially open at 9 a.m. on Feb. 24 and the first 500 customers through the doors will receive a Whole Foods Market Gift Card with a mystery value between $5 and $50. One customer will receive a $500 gift card.

“We are elated to open a store for the Wauwatosa and surrounding communities,” said Whole Foods Market Wauwatosa store team leader, Ted Beres.

The Whole Foods store at the Mayfair Collection will have 120 employees.

This will be the second Milwaukee area location for Whole Foods. The other is on the East Side of Milwaukee at 2305 N. Prospect Ave. Whole Foods also has a store in Madison.
