Westbury Bancorp Inc., the parent company of West Bend-based Westbury Bank, has named Greg J. Remus chief operating officer of the company and bank.
Remus joined Westbury in 2009 and most recently served as senior vice president of lending. His responsibilities will entail oversight of the commercial business, multi-family and commercial real estate loan portfolio. This includes credit quality, underwriting, administration, collections, loan yield pricing and portfolio growth.
He has more than 20 years of financial services experience, and served as vice president of commercial real estate at M&I Bank from 2004 to 2009. Remus holds a bachelor’s in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin.
“Greg’s leadership skills will be very important to implementing the bank’s strategic growth initiatives and moving forward the bank’s overall financial performance,” said Ray Lipman, president and chief executive officer. “This appointment will allow me to continue my focus on long term strategic matters and capital management strategies of the bank and the company for the next several years while Greg will be responsible for all day to day commercial and retail banking functions such as lending, deposit gathering and wealth management functions.”
In addition, Westbury Bancorp has named William D. Gehl vice chairman of the board of directors for the company and the bank.
Gehl, former president and chief executive officer of Gehl Company, has been a member of the board since 1995, and will now assist Lipman and the board in strategic capital management and improving long-term shareholder value.
