Westbury Bank, headquartered in West Bend, will close on Columbus Day, Oct. 8, while more than 150 employees take part in a company-wide volunteer day for the third consecutive year. Their volunteer efforts will be contributed to preparations for Washington County’s Animated Holiday Lights Show, “Enchantment in the Park.”
While in previous years the company has helped multiple nonprofit organizations during volunteer day, this year employees will devote their time exclusively to the lights show, unrolling and stringing lights and piecing together Santa’s Village to set the scene for the show.
Volunteers will start their day of service at the Washington County fairgrounds and divide into teams to tackle the holiday project.
“The large number of employees who give their time to come out to the Fair Park and help us with our set-up process is such a benefit to us,” said Betsy Guild, Enchantment Volunteer Committee Chairperson. “Westbury Bank has been a huge supporter of Rotary’s Enchantment in the Park from its first year in 2009, and Community Involvement Day is just one example of their support.”
Enchantment in the Park collects food donations from community members and families visiting the holiday display to benefit food pantries in Washington County. Last year’s fundraiser generated more than 44,000 nonperishable food items, which exceeded the original goal by more than double.
The 2012 Enchantment in the Park Holiday festivities will begin the day after Thanksgiving and run through the end of the year at Washington County Fair Park. More information can be found at www.enchantmentpark.org.
