What does your daily or weekly fitness regime consist of? In the winter months I play lots of organized basketball and I am on several leagues, including practices 1-2 times per week. In the summer months I play softball on two leagues, bike on the weekends and most of my vacations are surrounded with a hike or a canoe trip.

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life? My weight has been steady since high school and I still fit into the same size as 25 years ago… buying cloths is easy!

How does personal fitness affect your work life? Personal fitness keeps me alert during the day and I need less sleep. I can easily work a 10-12 hour day without getting tired.

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization? A fit employee can work overtime without any problems. Fit employees keep insurance rates low!

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative? Its never to late to start, it will be hard the first couple of months but after a while it just becomes routine.
