The housing crash ends — for some

In some of Chicago’s wealthy neighborhoods and suburbs, the housing crash is ending. While prices remain far beneath their 2006 peaks, the market for high-end homes is reviving, distinguishing it from areas still mired in foreclosures and double-digit price declines. Bidding wars are back, as is another emblem of the pre-recession residential boom: all-cash offers.
