Taylor draws conservative fire over e-mail

State Sen. Lena Taylor (D-Milwaukee) is taking heat from conservative radio host Charlie Sykes and Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke over an e-mail she sent touting a health and beauty event in her district.
The e-mail, sent Tuesday around 10 a.m. with "Legislative Alert" in the subject line, includes information about a March 20 seminar featuring Dr. Elton Tinsley, who operates plastic surgery and cosmetic medicine practices Milwaukee, Chicago and Naperville, Ill. The flyer included with the e-mail lists such services as breast augmentation, tummy tuck and weight loss.
Taylor’s office said the e-mail was sent to subscribers to her legislative e-mail list to inform constituents about a community event. The event is taking place in Sen. Spencer Coggs’ district, just a few blocks from Taylor’s district boundary.
