A developer is proposing a new Starbucks at the site of an existing gas station at 4306 W. Layton Ave. in Greenfield.
The developer, Brookfield-based Somerstone LLC, is proposing to redevelop the property on the northeast corner of West Layton Avenue and West Loomis Road, currently the site of a Citgo gas station, with a new 2,900-square-foot Starbucks cafe.
Plans filed with the city call for retrofitting the existing building but removing all gas-station equipment, such as the pumps. The plans also call for the removal of the entrance off Layton Avenue. Instead, patrons would access the property from West Loomis Road and South 43rd Street.
The redeveloped property would provide 24 parking spaces and eight stacking spaces for a drive-through lane.
The plans are to be considered by the city’s Plan Commission on Tuesday evening.
Somerstone has been involved in more than $3.5 billion worth of real estate transactions, according to a city staff report. Recent developments include other Starbucks locations in new Berlin, Sussex, Pewaukee, Middleton and Bellevue.
Waukesha-based Thrive Architects is the project architect, and Pewaukee-based Wellspring Construction Group LLC is the project contractor.
