Gourmet Foods International is planning to expand its Kenosha facility, according to state records.
The Atlanta-based specialty foods distributor has a local operation at 9629 58th Place. It plans to expand the facility by about 74,000 square feet, according to documents filed with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
A representative of Gourmet Foods did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
According to the DNR permit application, the project includes the building expansion along with new driveways, parking areas and utilities, and landscaping improvements. It filed an application exempting a wetland area on the project site.
Gourmet Foods set up shop in Kenosha in 2015, after purchasing the 35,216-square-foot building in the Business Park of Kenosha.
On its website, the company also lists locations in New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Colorado and California.
It distributes such specialty products as cheese, meat and seafood, bakery items, condiments and spices, beverages and food-service supplies, among other things.
