Southridge Mall adding several new stores

T.J. Maxx, Round 1 Bowling and Amusement Complex slated for 2019 openings

Southridge Mall in Greendale has endured its fair share of challenges in recent years losing several major stores. But this week its owner, Simon Property Group L.P., announced it has recently secured several new tenants that have either already opened stores at the mall or are planning to do so soon.

Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy recently opened stores in the redeveloped building that formerly housed Sears. The companies occupy 66,000 square feet of its lower level, and next year the building’s second floor will house a Round 1 Bowling and Amusement Complex.

Simon also announced recently that Discount retailer T.J. Maxx will also open a store at the mall next year.

Within the last month, Grab & Go Convenience Store, Verizon Wireless, music apparel shop Rock America, and home decor store Village Shoppe have all opened on the mall’s lower level.

Four additional tenants will open their doors later this month. They include Mad Chicken, a fast casual restaurant that serves “quick bites with fresh ingredients;” Dough Life, a bakery and sweet shop that sells edible cookie dough products; Renaissance Book Store, which carries both new and used books; and Milano Fashion, a European men’s fashion retailer. Also a yet-to-be-announced women’s fashion store is coming to Southridge soon, according to Simon Properties.

“Southridge Mall is excited to welcome these new retailers and offerings for shoppers to enjoy throughout the holiday season and beyond,” said Mary Mokwa, general manager of Southridge Mall. “These additions further support our commitment to provide our shoppers with a one-stop destination for a wide variety of quality retail.”

Southridge lost Sears as an anchor in summer 2017, just months after Kohl’s Corp. announced it would move its store, a second anchor, to the 84South development in Greenfield. Orlando, Fla.-based Italian restaurant chain Buca di Beppo also last year closed its Southridge restaurant, its only remaining location in Wisconsin.
