Shoe store employees give back to area homeless

Organizations:

Employees from Stan’s Fit for Your Feet recently delivered hundreds of pairs of shoes to patrons of Milwaukee-based Repairers of the Breach, the city’s only daytime shelter and resource for homeless people. Employees personally measured each person’s foot and provided them with a comfortable pair of donated shoes just in time for winter. The shoes were collected as part of Stan’s Fit For Your Feet “Share A Pair” shoe drive which was held at all three of stores located in Brookfield, Glendale and Greenfield. In the five years Stan’s has been doing this shoe drive they have collected over 105,000 pairs of shoes. The remainder of the 30,000 pairs of shoes collected in 2011 will be donated to Soles4 Souls, a national not-for-profit group that provides free footwear to victims of disasters, people living in abject poverty and people in need of a fresh start.
