Schlitz Park, the 46-acre office park in the former Schlitz brewery on the north side of downtown Milwaukee, is adding several amenities for bicyclists.
Schlitz Park is doubling the amount of bicycle parking and installed a Varsity Bike Dock Rack system for 80 bikes. Schlitz Park says it is the first commercial property in the country to install the Varsity Bike Dock system, which is designed to provide better bike security without damaging the bikes.
Schlitz Park also installed a covered bike parking shelter and published a bike map with suggested routes to and from the property.
“Schlitz Park is dedicated to providing transportation options to employees working at Schlitz Park, encouraging tenant wellness, and reducing environmental impacts,” said Gary Grunau, Schlitz Park developer. “A bicycle friendly Schlitz Park will help retain and attract tenants, especially those desiring a younger workforce. Recent studies show young people prefer working in urban locations where they don’t have to drive to work and are close to dining, retail and other lifestyle amenities.”
Schlitz Park recently announced a $30 million improvement plan for the complex.
