Sam’s Club store planned on far northwest side of Milwaukee

A new 135,000-square-foot Sam’s Club store and a member’s only gas station is planned for a 19-acre vacant site northeast of West Bradley Road and North 124th Street on the far northwest side of Milwaukee. The site is next to Dretzka Park.

The proposed store would replace the Sam’s Club store at 7701 W. Calumet Road in Milwaukee. The new store location is three miles west of the existing store location.

Sam’s Club is a chain of membership-only retail warehouse clubs owned and operated by Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

Another large grocery store, Woodman’s, is located on the west side of North 124th Street in Menomnoee Falls, across the street from the site of the proposed Sam’s Club store.

The 138,480-square-foot Sam’s Club store at 7701 W. Calumet Road was built in 1991. It has an assessed value of $10 million, according to city records.
