Roundy’s offering walk-up flu shots

Learn more about:

Milwaukee-based Roundy’s Inc. is offering walk up flu shots at its Pick ‘n Save, Copps, Metro Market and Mariano’s stores during all pharmacy hours, with no appointment necessary.

The company’s pharmacists are all certified immunizers, and can provide the standard flu vaccine or Fluzone HD for those 65 and older in store. Cost per shot is $26.

The flu shots being administered at Roundy’s protect against three types of viruses, including H1N1, and some Quadrivalent vaccines will be available to protect against a fourth virus type.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends all those older than six months receive a flu vaccine each year to help protect against the flu, ideally before October. The antibodies take about two weeks to develop and offer protection.

“We’re pleased that year after year more and more of our patients and customers take advantage of this advanced service that we offer,” said George Kowalski, RP, vice president, Roundy’s Pharmacy. “We will be encouraging as many people as possible to protect themselves and their loved ones this year by getting their flu shot.”
