Robberies are hurting Bay View businesses

Learn more about:

My wife and I are residents of Bay View. We support our local businesses and love the way our community has grown over the past few years.

However, the recent rash of armed robberies at Bay View businesses is a cause for serious concern. As you may or may not be aware, the following locations were held up over the past several weeks. There may be others I am not fully aware of, mostly due to inadequate media coverage:

  • Starbucks, Monday, March 12
  • Groppi’s, Thursday, March 8.
  • Applebee’s, Monday, March 5.
  • Bella’s Fat Cat, Sunday, Feb. 18.
  • Tenuta’s Pizza, Pasta and Catering, Saturday, Jan. 6.

Patrons were held up, as well, at all restaurants.

As Bay View residents and/or business owners, we must hold our local leaders accountable for their action plan to address this matter. I ask you to contact our local city official, Alderman Tony Zielinski (District 14), and demand he develop a tangible action plan to address this matter. He has been responsive in the past to other requests, so I feel your efforts will not goun-noticed.

Safety for our families and friends must be our No. 1 priority. With safety comes prosperity. Bay View residents cannot settle for anything less.

Contact Alderman Zielinski at (414) 286-3769 or tzieli@milwaukee.gov.
