Renaissance Power acquires gearbox manufacturer

Milwaukee-based Renaissance Power Systems has acquired Roebuck, S.C.-based Griffin Gear Inc.

 
Griffin manufactures replacement gearing and rebuilds gearboxes for industrial applications. 
RPS, a portfolio company of Minneapolis private equity firm Mill City Capital LP, is a group of precision gears and heavy machinery companies. It also owns Canadian machinery, manufacturing and open gearing company Havlik International Machinery.

The companies together serve OEM and aftermarket customers in mining, power generation, oil and gas, metal, defense, civil infrastructure and other process industries.

Griffin will maintain its operations and its 65 employees. It will have greater opportunity to invest in new technology and expand its capabilities and market reach under the RPS model.
