Real estate deal of the week

Construction firm moving from Milwaukee to Germantown
J&B Construction Company Inc.
plans to move its headquarters from 4380 N. Green Bay Ave. in Milwaukee to Germantown. The company recently purchased three buildings on a 4.1-acre site at W140 N10589 Fond du Lac Ave., Germantown, for its new headquarters. The company’s J&B Commercial and Residential Roofing company and Sheet Metal divisions will also make the move to Germantown. The company, which has 46 full-time employees, will occupy the largest of the three buildings, which has 15,000 square feet of space. The remaining two 7,500-square-foot buildings are currently occupied by other tenants. Last year the company’s Milwaukee location was destroyed by a four-alarm fire.

"This (Germantown) site gives me the ability to grow my division and build them their own building if I choose," said Scott Cline, chief executive officer of J&B Construction Co. "After surviving a fire, you get paranoid about having your whole company in one building." The property sale was brokered by Ted Klumb of Equity Commercial Real Estate, who represented J&B Construction, and Scott Revolinski and Paul McBride of RFP Commercial, who represented the seller.
