Racine Tea Party members support Republican candidates

An on-line survey of Racine Tea Party activists indicated strong support for Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Walker and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ron Johnson, as well as some other GOP candidates running for state office.
The Tea Party members also gave their blessings in the poll to Brett Davis as lieutenant governor, Scott Feldt for state treasurer, David King for secretary of state and J.B. Van Hollen for attorney general.
The survey was emailed to approximately 3,000 activists who had attended Tea party events or were previously identified as community activists. A total of 1,462 responses were received at the end of the 10-day survey period between Aug. 10th and Aug. 19.
“We conducted this survey as an opportunity to get an idea of where the thousands of folks who have been attending events or active in their community view the elections right now” Racine Tea Party spokeswoman Nancy Milholland said. “We’re excited with the number of responses which confirm what we hear everyday; that interest in the November election is building.”
She added that the Racine Tea Party has not and will not endorse individual candidates as a group.
