Press Club forum to discuss need for women executives

The Milwaukee Press Club’s next “Behind the Headlines” luncheon and discussion will focus on the importance of promoting women to executive positions and the benefit that gender diversity has on business operations and bottom lines.

 

The event, titled “The Business Case for Promoting Women,” is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 6, and will feature a conversation between a panel of area journalists and a panel of area leaders. Discussion will expand on the need for more women leaders in business and the regional push to drive women into these roles.

Industry speakers are:

* Krista Brookman, a senior director at Catalyst, a global nonprofit organization that aims to open up opportunities for women and business
* Dr. Phyllis King, an associate vice chancellor for academic affairs at UW-Milwaukee, chair of Milwaukee Women inc. and a past president of TEMPO Milwaukee
* Jon Langenfeld, head of global equities, director of equity research for Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc.
* Kim Metcalf-Kupres, vice president and chief marketing officer for Johnson Controls

The event is open to the public and will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Lake Express High-Speed Ferry Terminal, located at 2330 S. Lincoln Memorial Dr. in Milwaukee.

Cost is $20 for press club members and $25 for the general public. Lunch is included, but space is limited. Attendees must register and pay in advance by visiting www.milwaukeepressclub.org.
