Amy Henselin has been promoted to audit partner in the Wisconsin practice of Grant Thornton LLP. Henselin was previously a senior audit manager with Grant Thornton. She serves as the leader of Grant Thornton’s Not-for-Profit Industry team as well as Grant Thornton’s Women’s Initiative for the Wisconsin practice.

Brookfield-based Bader Rutter & Associates has promoted Jeff Young to president. In his new role, Young will be responsible for day-to-day operational management of the firm, with an emphasis on integration of internal functions and development of service offerings. Greg Nickerson, who will continue in his role as chairman and CEO, will oversee the agency’s account management, new business activities and financial stewardship. Both officers will remain directly involved in day-to-day client service. Young has been with Bader Rutter for more than 21 years, serving in management roles in the public relations, account management and brand asset management departments.

Milwaukee-based The Falk Group has added Raejean Kanter to its staff as director of community relations. Kanter has more than 20 years of philanthropic and nonprofit experience and previously served as executive director of the March of Dimes Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter, executive director of Community Health Charities of Wisconsin and executive director of the Forest County Potawatomi Community Foundation. Most recently, she served as interim executive director of the American Diabetes Association of Wisconsin.

Banking & Finance

PrivateBancorp Inc. hired Jeff Jarecki as managing director of regional commercial banking in the Milwaukee office of The PrivateBank. Jarecki joined The PrivateBank from BMO Harris Bank, where he was senior relationship manager in business banking and was responsible for developing new business and maintaining existing commercial relationships. Prior to that he held the position of executive vice president of operations and relationship manager at Lincoln State Bank.

Building & Construction

VJS Construction Services, Pewaukee, has added Chris Goeke to the firm as a project coordinator. For the past five years Goeke has served as project coordinator for J. F. Ahern Co.

Scherrer Construction Co. Inc., Burlington, has hired Annette Simms as director of marketing and business development. Simms has more than 12 years of construction-specific experience, along with prior employment in the health care, manufacturing and non-profit industries.

Consulting

Reserve Advisors has hired Evan Anderson as a civil engineer. Anderson previously conducted research on the long-term performance of recycled asphalt pavement at UNH. He will be working in Reserve Advisors’ corporate office in Milwaukee.

Education

Lauri Howard has been hired as the director of workforce training at Kenosha-based Gateway Technical College’s Workforce and Economic Development Department. Howard has more than 15 years of experience in workforce training including 10 years with Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Health Care

Dr. Smriti Khare, has been named president of Children’s Medical Group. Children’s Medical Group is part of the Children’s Hospital and includes 18 primary care sites in southeastern Wisconsin and a primary care practice in Vernon Hills, Ill. Khare has been a pediatrician with Children’s Medical Group for 10 years. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading more than 70 providers who care for more than 230,000 patients each year.

Hospitality & Entertainment

Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Milwaukee, has promoted Sydney Johnson to market director of catering sales for the company’s three Milwaukee properties: The Pfister Hotel, InterContinental Milwaukee and Hilton Milwaukee. She has been with Marcus Hotels & Resorts for nearly seven years, and previously served as a senior manager of catering sales for the three Milwaukee properties. Prior to joining the company, she attended The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago and then worked as a pastry chef in Chicago.

Legal Services

Godfrey & Kahn, S.C., Milwaukee recently added eight new attorney associates to the firm’s Corporate, Labor & Employment, Litigation, Securities and Tax & Employee Benefits Practice Groups in Madison and Milwaukee. Five of those employees will be located in the firm’s Milwaukee office. Laura Hawkins was added to the firm’s Securities Practice Group; Travis Laird to the firm’s Corporate Practice Group; M. Scott LeBlanc was added to the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group; Daniel Narvey was added to the Litigation Practice Group; and Timothy Smith was added to the firm’s Tax & Employee Benefits Practice Group.

Management Services

Ascential Service Corporation, Racine, has promoted David Pfeiffer to vice president of operations. Pfeiffer has served as director of service operations since July 2008. He joined the company in June 1994 as a project coordinator.

Manufacturing

Standard Process Inc., Palmyra, has hired Daniel Gahl, microbiologist; Marsha Miller-Dillman, medical segment manager; Ryan Moyse, safety manager and Kaustubh Zoal, website applications developer for the company. Standard Process manufactures whole food supplements, and grows many of its ingredients on its own certified organic farm.

TLX Technologies, a Waukesha-based manufacturer of solenoid and fluid control valve components, has hired Don Kincade as a design engineer. Kincade is a recent graduate of MSOE with honors and brings experience in the field of biomedical device development and manufacturing.

Nonprofit

David Spano, president and CEO of Annex Wealth Management in Brookfield, was recently elected president of the Italian Community Center for his second consecutive term. Members also elected officers for the 2011-12 term. They include: Gina Spang, of Milwaukee, as vice president; Sam Purpero, of Greendale, as treasurer; Rose Anne (Ceraso) Fritchie, of Mukwonago, as secretary; and Joanne (Sanfilippo) Czubek, of Muskego, as sergeant-at-arms. Those elected as directors-at-large included: Tony Piacentini, of Greenfield, Peter Gustin, of Oak Creek, and Elizabeth Ceraso and Ralph Busalacchi, both of Milwaukee.

In Tandem Theatre recently elected Sharveta Parker, to its board of directors. Parker is the office and marketing manager for Cafe Perin, a “made-from-scratch bakery and restaurant,” newly opened in August 2011. Parker previously worked for Menomonee Falls-based Kohl’s Corp.

Retail

Senior living communities Eastcastle Place and Newcastle Place, respectively located in Milwaukee and Mequon, have hired a dedicated community liaison for each facility. The position was previously shared between both Eastcastle Place and Newcastle Place. Diane Nelson will continue in her community liaison position exclusively at Newcastle Place. Sue Kubiak was hired as community liaison at Eastcastle place. Kubiak has 15 years of marketing experience and most recently worked for Extendicare Senior Living in Milwaukee for six years. Additionally, Dawn Jacques has joined both community staffs as a social worker for Eastcastle Place and Newcastle Place. She has 18 years of social work experience, including five years working with seniors.

Technology

Jordan Ward has been named a senior consultant for Milwaukee-based Corporate Technology Solutions. Prior to joining CTS, Ward served as a senior software engineer for Quad/Graphics, where he worked with Microsoft technologies, and was also responsible for new .NET architecture as well as strategic planning for logistics software systems.
