Mary Jo Werner, a tax partner with Wipfli LLP, Wauwatosa, has earned the prestigious 2012 President’s Volunteer Service Award at the gold level for her service of more than 500 hours to the IRS Taxpayer Advocacy Panel. Werner works with more than 600 clients to reduce their income and estate tax exposure and has more than 25 years of experience. She also provides clients with litigation support, fraud and forensic investigations.

Milwaukee-based Mueller Communications, Inc. has promoted Ashley Christophersen to account coordinator. Christophersen previously worked at Milwaukee World Festivals, Inc. as assistant manager of the Summerfest volunteer program, where she recruited, trained and managed volunteers, and assisted with special event efforts for the festival.
Nelson Schmidt Inc., Milwaukee, has hired Kaitlin Corner as a public relations account executive and Mandi Baronas has been promoted to public relations assistant account executive. Corner and Baronas work in the agency’s corporate office. Prior to joining Nelson Schmidt, Corner spent four years in Charlotte, N.C., where she worked at a global lifestyle, sports and entertainment public relations agency. Baronas joined Nelson Schmidt in 2009 as an intern and was brought on as a full-time account coordinator and social media specialist June of 2011.

Sunbelt Midwest, Brookfield, has named James Pieper and
Ken Gehling as new brokers in the firm. Pieper brings nearly 25 years of industry experience in Manufacturing, Warehousing, Purchasing, Estimating, Management and Outside Sales. Gehling, an Army Veteran, comes to Sunbelt with experience that includes; 10 years as a Top-producing Mortgage Broker, business owner and finance consultant to medical, retail, insurance, banking and government entities.
Port Washington State Bank, Port Washington, has hired Christine King as its new vice president and branch manager of the bank’s Saukville location. King is a 31-year banking veteran who spent the last 27 years with M&I Bank in Port Washington and most recently in Saukville where she served as branch manager. In addition, Port Washington State Bank has promoted Ann Noster to assistant vice president and branch manager of its Port Washington branch and has also promoted Mary Albrecht to assistant vice president of deposit operations. Annie Stadler, has also been promoted to vice president and branch manager at the Bank’s Fredionia location and Lois Roeske has been promoted to assistant vice president and branch manager at the Bank’s Cedarburg location.

Dan Weber has been promoted to emergency services manager at Wauwatosa-based Kelmann Property Restoration. Weber was previously the lead water restoration technician and has been with Kelmann for four years. He specializes in structural drying, bio-remediation and is a Green Risk Professional.
Education
Everest College in Milwaukee has added Danielle Schewe as director of admissions and Sonia Riecan as director of career services. Schewe previously served as admissions manager for Corinthian Colleges. Riecan brings 10 years of experience in the education field, having served as a manager, student coach, career and placement advisor and instructor at a variety of educational institutions.
Marquette University has promoted 28 faculty members to professor or associate professor with tenure effective for the fall 2012 semester. Six full-time participating faculty were promoted to clinical associate professor. Those promoted to professor include David Baker, biomedical sciences; Irene Calboli, law; German Carrillo, foreign languages and literatures; William Cullinan, biomedical sciences; Mary Ann Farkas, social and cultural sciences; Richard Jones, social and cultural sciences; James Maki, biological sciences; Rev. Paul Zovic, CHMM has joined Hales Corners-based Endpoint Solutions Corp. as a senior advisor for the firm’s Wisconsin operations. Zovic brings over 27 years of technical, managerial, and marketing experience to the firm. Zovic is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, a certified Environmental Management System Auditor, a Registered Environmental Professional, and a voting member and instructor for ASTM. He was formerly a district manager of a national engineering and consulting company, and is particularly experienced with environmental due diligence, multi-media site evaluations, environmental compliance issues and environmental management systems.

Dr. Hany Mahfouz, has been appointed assistant professor of general internal medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He sees inpatients at Froedtert Hospital. Mahfouz’s clinical interests include adult and geriatrics kidney disorders, hypertension and vascular disorders. Prior to joining the faculty, Mahfouz worked in private practice in Cairo, Egypt, specializing in internal medicine, hypertension and geriatric medicine.
Dr. Dennis Worthington, chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare in southeast Wisconsin, has been selected as the 2012 recipient of the Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care (WAPC) Callon-Leonard Award. In addition to his responsibilities with Wheaton Franciscan, Dr. Worthington is also a clinical professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and past president of the Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care.
Dr. Navdeep Gupta has been appointed assistant professor of general internal medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He sees patients at Froedtert Hospital as a member of the perioperative and consultative medicine section of the general internal medicine department. Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Gupta is interested in outcomes-based patient care quality improvement programs. Prior to joining the Medical College faculty, Dr. Gupta served as an internal medicine hospitalist at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.

The law firm of Lindner & Marsack, S.C., Milwaukee, has named Daniel Finerty and Melissa Stone attorneys in its firm. Finerty brings more than a decade of experience representing clients in labor and employment matters, and will assist clients with labor and employment litigation, compliance and counseling matters. Stone’s practice will focus on defending workers’ compensation claims for the insurance industry and self-insured employers. Prior to joining Lindner & Marsack, she practiced workers’ compensation defense, liability defense and subrogation.
O’Neil, Cannon, Hollman, DeJong & Laing S.C., Milwaukee, has hired Douglas Dehler as an attorney in its litigation group. Dehler has practiced law in the Milwaukee community for more than 20 years. He has served as vice-president and senior litigation counsel for a national health insurance company, where he supervised a staff of in-house attorneys, paralegals and local attorneys and defended the company in litigation throughout the country, including class action litigation. He also regularly advised senior management on risk management and operational issues arising in the claims and underwriting units of the company.

Equality Wisconsin has appointed Milwaukee County Supervisor Marina Dimitrijevic to the board of directors for the Equality Wisconsin Fund. The Equality Wisconsin Fund is a charitable organization that seeks to better the lives of Wisconsin gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people by increasing public understanding and improved public policy through education, organizing, and civic engagement. Supervisor Dimitrijevic was the lead sponsor of the resolution to extend health benefits to domestic partners of Milwaukee County employees.
Women’s FOCUS of Ozaukee County recently announced its 2012 Board of Directors. The organization supports business owners and professional women in the Milwaukee area. The Milwaukee Community Service Corps has appointed George Leutermann as the organization’s new executive director. The MCSC mission is to train and employ at-risk young adults ages 16 to 24 in relevant technologies and jobs for the future. Leutermann has demonstrated exceptional skill and leadership in the workforce development sector, holding executive management positions with organizations including Ranch Community Services, United Migrant Opportunity Service (UMOS), the Milwaukee Job Center Network, Goodwill Industries of SE Wisconsin and others.
Lad Lake has named Marc DeVillers as the agency’s new chief financial officer. DeVillers brings more than 20 years of experience to the position, having served in leadership positions in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors.

Mid-America Real Estate Corporation, Milwaukee, has added Brian Gingrass to the Investment Sales Group. Prior to joining the investment brokerage team, Gingrass spent over six years in real estate in Milwaukee at Commercial Property Associates and Grubb & Ellis/Apex Commercial Real Estate.
Technology
Tushaus Computer Services, Milwaukee, has named Michael Shea vice president of operations. Shea comes to Tushaus with many years of leadership experience within several leading technology service providers, most recently FIS (formerly Metavante). At FIS, Shea was responsible for the strategy, design, project management, engineering, operation, and administration of the customer and corporate network, with oversight of a staff of 187. Shea was also a member of the senior management team.
Cilio Technologies, LLC, Brookfield, has named Steve Becker a partner and vice president of sales and marketing. Becker, who was a senior director with LG Hausys America, joins the team with 20 years of experience in sales leadership and executive management. At Cilio Technologies, Becker will be responsible for growing and developing new relationships within the complex network of manufacturers, distributors, fabricators, installers and retailers that make up the supply chain for installed sales products such as counter tops, cabinets, windows, doors and flooring among dozens of other segments.
Milwaukee-based Prolitec Inc., a leading developer of air treatment, scenting and air care technologies, has named Brian Sawyer director of engineering at the company. Sawyer comes to Prolitec with more than 13 years of semiconductor packaging and technology related experience. Most recently, he was engineering manager for Ventiva, Inc., in Santa Clara, Calif., where he was responsible for developing the Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) cooling solution for high volume manufacturing.
