Richard “Hardy” Sawall, senior vice president of Midwest Operations for the New York-based Innovation Fuels, Inc., was recently appointed president of the Wisconsin Biodiesel Association. Sawall, 33, is the youngest president in the organization’s history.

Tony Coraggio recently joined Mortenson Construction, Brookfield, as a project manager. Coraggio has worked on notable projects throughout Wisconsin including the Potawatomi Bingo Casino, Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin, and multiple renovations at Froedtert Hospital.
Katt Construction Corporation, Racine, recently announced that Gary Sadler has joined the firm as a project manager/estimator.

Wauwatosa-based Froedtert & Community Health senior vice president and chief operating officer Dennis Pollard was recently named president of Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls. In addition to his new role as president, Pollard will continue his current system-level duties for Froedtert & Community Health.
Christine Holmes, president of Penfield Children’s Center, Milwaukee, has been appointed to the UW School of Medicine and Public Health Oversight and Advisory Committee (OAC), where she will help direct and approve funds for public health initiatives throughout the state. Holmes serves as the sole Milwaukee community representative.
Dr. David Moe recently joined Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, as an interventional and pediatric radiologist. Moe also is an assistant professor of Radiology at The Medical College of Wisconsin and a member of Children’s Specialty Group.

The board of trustees of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., Milwaukee, recently elected John Balboni to serve on the board. Balboni is senior vice president and chief information officer of Memphis, Tenn.-based International Paper Company.

The Milwaukee Bar Association recently awarded the following individuals with their annual awards: John Dawson, retiree of Foley & Lardner, received the Lifetime Achievement award; John Daniels, Jr., of Quarles & Brady LLP, received the Lawyer of the Year award; Charles Barr, of Croen & Barr LLP, and Patricia Hintz of Quarles & Brady, received the Distinguished Service Award; and Hon. Kitty Brennan, Court of Appeals, District 1, received the E. Michael McCann Distinguished Public Service Award for her leadership as a Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge.

Mark Magnarini has been named chief operating officer of Fontarôme Chemical, Inc., Milwaukee. Magnarini joined the company in 2008 as vice president of operations where he oversaw production and production control, distribution, process support and facilities and equipment management. He has more than 30 years experience in the custom/contract manufacturing industry.
Wixon Inc., St. Francis, recently named Karen Linck regional sales manager for industrial products. She has more than 12 years of marketing and technical experience in products for the food industry including protein, seasonings, and prepared meals.

The Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee, Inc. will honor two individuals, Doris Heiser and Maria Rodriquez, with the Lynde B. Uihlein Award. The award recognizes individuals who have been exceptional contributors to the Women’s Fund and supported the organization while serving the Milwaukee community. The Women’s Fund also recently awarded $21,000 in Her Scholarships to eight non-traditional students in partnership with the Plunkett Family Foundation, the Pat Wilmeth Fund, and the College Endowment Association. This year’s recipients include: Joanne Anderson, a social work major at UW-Milwaukee; Kari Andrews, an education major at UW-Milwaukee; Ann Gieschen-Salazar, a nursing major at UW-Milwaukee; Elizabeth Bonghor Kamara, a fashion design major at Mount Mary College; Julie Maloney, an international studies major at UW-Milwaukee; Carolyn Mattox, a business and management major at Alverno College; and Mary Lee Wolfgram, a business and management major at Alverno College.
