Richard “Hardy” Sawall, senior vice president of Midwest Operations for the New York-based Innovation Fuels, Inc., was recently appointed president of the Wisconsin Biodiesel Association. Sawall, 33, is the youngest president in the organization’s history.

Tony Coraggio recently joined Mortenson Construction, Brookfield, as a project manager. Coraggio has worked on notable projects throughout Wisconsin including the Potawatomi Bingo Casino, Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin, and multiple renovations at Froedtert Hospital. 

Katt Construction Corporation, Racine, recently announced that Gary Sadler has joined the firm as a project manager/estimator.

CareHome Instead Senior Care, Waukesha, recently hired Sandra Rogers as a community service representative.

Wauwatosa-based Froedtert & Community Health senior vice president and chief operating officer Dennis Pollard was recently named president of Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls. In addition to his new role as president, Pollard will continue his current system-level duties for Froedtert & Community Health.

Christine Holmes, president of Penfield Children’s Center, Milwaukee, has been appointed to the UW School of Medicine and Public Health Oversight and Advisory Committee (OAC), where she will help direct and approve funds for public health initiatives throughout the state. Holmes serves as the sole Milwaukee community representative.

Dr. David Moe recently joined Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, as an interventional and pediatric radiologist. Moe also is an assistant professor of Radiology at The Medical College of Wisconsin and a member of Children’s Specialty Group.

Insurance

The board of trustees of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., Milwaukee, recently elected John Balboni to serve on the board. Balboni is senior vice president and chief information officer of Memphis, Tenn.-based International Paper Company.

Legal Services

The Milwaukee Bar Association recently awarded the following individuals with their annual awards: John Dawson, retiree of Foley & Lardner, received the Lifetime Achievement award;  John Daniels, Jr., of Quarles & Brady LLP, received the Lawyer of the Year award; Charles Barr, of Croen & Barr LLP, and Patricia Hintz of Quarles & Brady, received the Distinguished Service Award; and Hon. Kitty Brennan, Court of Appeals, District 1, received the E. Michael McCann Distinguished Public Service Award for her leadership as a Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge.

Manufacturing

Mark Magnarini has been named chief operating officer of Fontarôme Chemical, Inc., Milwaukee. Magnarini joined the company in 2008 as vice president of operations where he oversaw production and production control, distribution, process support and facilities and equipment management. He has more than 30 years experience in the custom/contract manufacturing industry.

Wixon Inc., St. Francis, recently named Karen Linck regional sales manager for industrial products. She has more than 12 years of marketing and technical experience in products for the food industry including protein, seasonings, and prepared meals.

Professional Organizations

The Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee, Inc. will honor two individuals, Doris Heiser and Maria Rodriquez, with the Lynde B. Uihlein Award. The award recognizes individuals who have been exceptional contributors to the Women’s Fund and supported the organization while serving the Milwaukee community. The Women’s Fund also recently awarded $21,000 in Her Scholarships to eight non-traditional students in partnership with the Plunkett Family Foundation, the Pat Wilmeth Fund, and the College Endowment Association. This year’s recipients include: Joanne Anderson, a social work major at UW-Milwaukee; Kari Andrews, an education major at UW-Milwaukee; Ann Gieschen-Salazar, a nursing major at UW-Milwaukee; Elizabeth Bonghor Kamara, a fashion design major at Mount Mary College; Julie Maloney, an international studies major at UW-Milwaukee; Carolyn Mattox, a business and management major at Alverno College; and Mary Lee Wolfgram, a business and management major at Alverno College.

ActionCOACH, Elm Grove recently announced the members of its ActionCLUB #17 graduating class. The 4-month program supplies the fundamentals of building a successful business model. The graduates are: Mandy and Chris Fox of Fox Plumbing and Water Care, Steve and Cindy Gillingham of ABC Budget Service, Curt Dowdle and Jeff Sperle of Dowdle Drywall, Dave Gallah and Marcia Deckert of Rich’s House of Cakes, Hakan Hare and Maura Sullivan of LeCakery and Karen and John Fromm of Compassionate Home Care & Hospice Service.

Professional Services

Jewish Family Services, Inc., Milwaukee, recently announced that Marina Shafranski has been hired as the new LinkAges Coordinator. Shafranski will be responsible for developing and implementing care management programs for older adults, as well as managing program administrative systems and procedures.

Real Estate

NAI MLG Commercial, Brookfield, recently welcomed Kevin Schmoldt and Joe Powers to its downtown Milwaukee office brokerage team as sales associates.

Irgens Development Partners, LLC, Wauwatosa, recently announced that Mary Mokwa has joined the company as senior property manager.

Technology

Keith Guttormson has been named an IT consultant for Corporate Technology Solutions (CTS), Milwaukee. Prior to joining CTS, Guttormson worked as a consultant with Pewaukee-based JellTech Consulting LLC.

Utility Services

Jessica Franz recently joined the administrative team at Lagina Plumbing, Milwaukee. She primarily will be responsible for small project sales and service. Franz previously worked in the mechanical industry handling various duties.

Advanced Waste Services, Inc., West Allis, recently announced the promotion of Jeff Dean to director of operations. Dean is a 14 year veteran of Advanced Waste Services, and will be responsible for all Advanced Waste Service’s operations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Pennsylvania.
