The board of Brookfield-based Paragon Development Systems Inc. has named Asif Naseem president and chief executive officer.
Former president and CEO Jonathan Ravdin will continue as vice chairman and chief medical officer. He was an active participant in the succession planning process, the company said.
Naseem has served as a consultant for PDS since May 2014. He holds a Ph.D. in computer engineering and is a M+Vision Visiting Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Naseem has led software, systems and applications businesses for both startups and public companies including AT&T Bell Labs, AT&T-NCR, Motorola and Oracle Corp.
“PDS is a strong and financially secure company, with impressive prospects for future growth and profitability. This transition is consistent with the long-term strategy the company is pursuing to address the evolving information technology needs of the market and PDS customers,” said John Byrnes, chairman of the board for PDS. “Asif brings broad experience across the technology sector, and we believe he has the talent and energy to lead PDS and accelerate its success. We are grateful for Jonathan Ravdin’s tireless leadership that has put the company on its current path.”
“Mobility, virtualization and social media continue to profoundly impact how our customers and partners conduct their business,” Naseem said. “I am excited about the opportunity to help PDS achieve its next stage of growth by leveraging the core strengths of the PDS team, building upon relationships with our customers and partners, and augmenting our business with new opportunities.”
