Orion launches new hybrid lighting system

Organizations:

Manitowoc-based Orion Energy Systems Inc. launched its new advanced hybrid lighting platform last week at the ProMat 2011 show in Chicago. The new platform, designed for high-bay applications such as manufacturing facilities, warehouses and distribution centers, combines high density fluorescent and LED technologies into one light fixture.

The hybrid platform’s LED section provides rapid cycling with instant on/off as often as required for low-level lighting needs while the fluorescent section illuminates an aisle with high levels of superior quality light at the lowest possible cost. When paired with Orion’s motion-sensitive sensors, the platform is able to automatically adjust output based on occupancy, giving maximum lighting cost savings.

The company believes its new platform, when paired with its sensor technology, will deliver the lowest cost operations for high bay lighting.

“Bright was easy, but smart is where the money is,” stated Orion Founder and CEO Neal Verfuerth in regard to the decreased costs, increased revenue and enhanced safe work environment achieved by deploying the Advanced Hybrid Lighting Platform.
