The Riverwest Food Pantry has appointed Vincent Noth as executive director.
The newly incorporated nonprofit organization serves Milwaukee’s northeast side, providing emergency food assistance to low- and moderate-income residents.
The organization is headquartered at 1716 N. Humboldt Ave. in Milwaukee. Its food distribution operations are based out of the basement of Meta House at 2625 N. Weil St. and out of Frederick J. Gaenslen Milwaukee Public School at 1250 E. Burleigh St.
As executive director, Noth will be responsible for overseeing operations at food distribution sites and will assist with food accrual, volunteer recruitment and training, and fundraising.
Noth’s career has been rooted in the nonprofit sector since 1998. His previous experience includes seven years as director of youth and families ministries at Eastbrook Church in Milwaukee and two years as program director at Milwaukee’s Summit Educational Association. Noth also worked as a community and organization development consultant in Eastern Europe with the Peace Corps.
The Riverwest Food Pantry stemmed from the East Side Housing Action Committee in the late 1970s and in 2012 served more than 10,000 residents. With official incorporation as a 501(c)(3) organization, the food pantry is now poised to broaden its services beyond emergency food distribution. Part of Noth’s role will be committed to expanding agency services to include clothing drives and neighborhood farming initiatives.
