Northwestern Mutual announces new grant

Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual is donating 12 grants worth $336,000 to colleges and universities throughout Wisconsin in an effort to make higher education more affordable for underprivileged students.

The grants will be distributed by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, which operates as Northwestern Mutual’s charitable arm.

The grants will benefit 10 higher education institutions, both private and public, and will fund scholarship programs as well as specialized academic programs in disciplines like information technology.
