Gilda’s Club to host dog walk for charity
Gilda’s Club Southeastern Wisconsin will host its annual Woof ‘N’ Hoof dog and people walk on Saturday, August 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Atwater Elementary School, 2100 E. Capitol Drive in Shorewood.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to include all family members in a fun and meaningful community event,” said Trish Haudricourt, executive director of Gilda’s Club.   “At Gilda’s Club we offer educational programs and emotional support to individuals and families who are living with cancer.  Most importantly, walkers of all ages and supporters of the event will help us to provide these families with an atmosphere of hope.”
Walkers have the option of a one or a 2.5 mile walk and can participate in a silent auction, raffle, contests and dog training demonstrations. Milwaukee County Sheriff, David Clarke will lead the walk with his K-9 police dogs, and other local celebrity pets will be on hand at the event as well.
Participants who raise $50 or more in pledges will be eligible to enter the grand prize drawing, which will be awarded immediately following the walk.  For registration information, visit Gilda’s Club website at or call 414.962.8201, ext. 102.
