RitzHolman joins volunteer council
Milwaukee-based RitzHolman CPAs recently joined the Greater Milwaukee Business Volunteer Council. The Volunteer Council is a coalition of 48 local companies dedicated to utilizing volunteerism as a tool to address business goals and community needs.
 “By serving over 350 nonprofit clients, contributing to the quality of life and vital future of the communities in which we work and live is at the core of RitzHolman CPAs,” said Andrew Holman, CPA and partner of RitzHolman CPAs.  “Approximately 80 percent of the firm’s workforce gives back and this partnership allows us to expand on our commitment to helping others.  What keeps the volunteer spirit alive in us is the fact that the rewards outweigh the time spent.  And with our expertise in the accounting industry, we recognize that we are in a unique position to assist the community.”

Independence First hosts annual event this weekend
Milwaukee-based Independence First, a nonprofit organization run by and dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities, will host its annual Stride and Glide 2011 at the Pettit National Ice Center on Saturday March 5. The event is designed to be a run, walk, roll and ice skating event for the whole family. Guests can register as individuals for $25 or can enter as a team. All participants will receive a long-sleeved t-shirt, refreshments and skate rental if desired. Lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m., and prizes will be awarded to the team or individuals who raise more than $100 in pledges. Milwaukee Wave players, Admirals hockey players and the Klement’s racing sausages will also make appearances.
