What makes your organization unique? "No other organization is sent out right along with the fire department to assist people who have experienced a fire. In addition, we are a national organization that has been in existence for many years."

What is one key thing needed for leadership in the nonprofit sector? "Successful leaders are successful in different ways and with different styles, so it is difficult to name one key thing. I think a trait that has helped me is persistence as well as a willingness to make difficult decisions."

Is your organization in search of board members? "We are always looking for committed individuals to serve on our board."

How can business people/the community help your organization? "By supporting us through volunteering or through donations."

Why do you think people should volunteer or become a board member? "I believe everyone has a responsibility to the larger community, and volunteering is a way to fulfill that responsibility."
