Sunday, Jan. 29 The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will host an evening with John McGivern at the Next Act Theater from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and again from 7 to 8:30 p.m. There will be a 45-minute meet and greet after each performance. Tickets are $50.

Saturday, Feb. 4 Innovative Health & Fitness in Franklin will host a special “Workout for Wishes” Zumbathon charity event on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. The event will raise funds for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin. Attendees will be able to enjoy two hours of Zumba followed by drinks and appetizers at Innovative Health & Fitness. Limited child care facilities for 25 children will be available first come first served and for an extra $5 charge.
Flynn also organizes An Evening of Elegance, a fundraising event where 100 percent of all proceeds benefit the charities. Flynn has set out with the same goal of zero administrative costs for Workout for Wishes, she said.
Tickets are available for $20 a person and may be purchased at Innovative Health & Fitness 8802 S. 102 Street, Franklin.

Saturday, Feb. 4 The second annual Sweetheart Fashion Show – benefiting Safe Babies Healthy Families  will be held at the Marriott Hotel, W231-N1600 Corporate Court, starting at 11 a.m.  The event will spotlight the latest offerings from local boutiques and raise money to break the cycle of child abuse, neglect and poverty in Waukesha County. Longtime county residents Andrea Bryant and Kay Lettenberger are co-chairs of the Sweetheart Fashion Show, which began in 2011. Along with many items of clothing and jewelry displayed, this year’s event will feature a gourmet lunch, and dozens of raffle items along with select auction items. Jordan Dechambre, Fashion Editor for M Magazine, is the guest emcee. All proceeds from the Sweetheart Fashion Show will benefit Safe Babies Healthy Families, the newly-merged organization of the agencies formerly known as Pregnancy Support Connection and Healthy Families of Waukesha County. The Sweetheart Fashion Show will highlight styles from Stephanie Horne Boutique, Bieg Boutique, Faye’s and Stella & Dot Jewelry. Roots Salon will provide hair and makeup services. Thursday, Feb. 16 SummerStage will host its fourth annual “Break-A-Leg Gala” from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Seven Seas Grand Ballroom in Hartland just off Highway 83. This year’s theme is “Rock Around the Clock – A Look Back to the 50s and 60s. Highlights of the evening will include a raffle, silent auction, dinner, and live entertainment featuring local performers, and special SummerStage announcements.
Cost to attend is $60 per person or $480 for a table of eight. Tickets for the event may be purchased in advance on line at www.Summer-Stage.org

Tuesday, Feb. 21 Gilda’s Club of Southeastern Wisconsin, in partnership with the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center will host a wellness event entitled: Restoring Emotional, Physical, Financial and Time Reserves to Overloaded Lives. Dr. Richard Swenson, best selling author and award-winning educator will present. The event will be held at the JCC starting at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Swenson will speak on his best-selling book, Margin. At this lecture, people will learn how to have more time and energy for family, friends and faith.  The event is free to attend.
