*Now through Friday, Aug. 30, The Salvation Army is running a school supplies drive to benefit students in Milwaukee. Needed items include books bags, backpacks, pencils bags and boxes, glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, No. 2 pencils, spiral notebooks, pocket folders, notebook paper, graph papers, and calculators among other school supplies. Donations can be dropped off at The Salvation Army Distribution Center, located at 5880 N. 60th St. in Milwaukee, on Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information about additional drop-off locations, visit www.SAmilwaukee.org.

*Saturday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Aug. 25, the ninth annual Milwaukee Masterpiece will bring a display of classic and handcrafted cars along with hot rods and motorcycles to Milwaukee’s Veterans Park. American, English, German and Italian cars will be featured alongside hot rods and motorcycles on Saturday, and handcrafted cars produced during postwar America will be showcased on Sunday. The weekend-long event will also include a parade of vehicles on Saturday, live music and vehicle awards ceremonies. Proceeds from the event benefit Milwaukee’s Jewish Family Services. Event costs are $20 for a day pass and $25 for a two-day pass. Kids under age 12 can get free admission when attending with an adult. For more information, visit www.milwaukeemasterpiece.com.

*Wednesday, Aug. 28, Live @ The Lakefront will feature its last concert of the summer with a performance by R.A.S. Movement. Live @ The Lakefront is a free weekly summer music event that runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the outdoor Rotary Amphitheater at Discovery World, located at 500 N. Harbor Dr. in Milwaukee. Seating is based on first come, first served. The concert takes place rain or shine with a backup location in Discover World’s indoor Promenade. Food and beverages provided by Bartolotta’s restaurant group will be available onsite. BizTimes Media serves as an in-kind sponsor of Live @ The Lakefront. *Thursday, Aug. 29, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and 99.1 The Mix are hosting their third annual “Stuff for Students” school supply drive. The drive will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the New Berlin Walmart, located at 15333 W. National Ave. Needed items include supplies like notebooks, pens, paper, crayons, folders and backpacks. 99.1 The Mix DJs Kidd O’Shea and Elizabeth Kay will broadcast live onsite at the drive. During last year’s drive, organizers filled a school bus full of supplies donated by community members.
