*Saturday, April 5, Autism Speaks will hold the sixth annual “Milwaukee Walk Now For Autism Speaks” event at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, located at 1001 N. 4th St. in Milwaukee. The event, held in recognition of April as Autism Awareness Month, will raise funds and spread awareness about Autism Speaks’ mission. The nonprofit organization funds autism research, supports services for families impacted by autism, and advocates for the needs of individuals with autism. This year’s walk will feature indoor and outdoor walking routes, a community resource fair, therapists, schools and recreational organizations, family-friendly activities and more. The day will begin at 9 a.m. The event is free for attendees, but individuals who raise at least $150 will take home commemorative t-shirts. *Saturday, April 5, Milwaukee Montessori School will host its annual gala to raise funds for the school and its academic programs. The gala, themed “Renaissance,” will feature a cocktail reception, dinner from Zilli’s catering, and live music by the Phil Seed Trio. The evening will also include a silent auction and a live auction with specialty packages, getaways and more. The gala will run from 6 to 10 p.m. at 1451 Renaissance Place, located at 1451 N. Prospect Ave. in Milwaukee. Cost to attend is $85 for individuals. Cocktail Attire is required. For more information, click here.

*Tuesday, April 8, the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee will host a workshop on “Starting A Nonprofit: Legal Issues and Documents.” The information session will walk attendees through paperwork needed to become a 501(c)(3) and how to develop bylaws. Jacqueline Boynton, attorney of Boynton Law Offices, will lead the workshop, which will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee, located at 2819 W. Highland Blvd. in Milwaukee. *Friday, April 11, the Milwaukee Art Museum will host “MAM After Dark: Back to the Prom.” The social event, presented by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, will feature live music by Random Maxx, a photo booth, punch tastings, artwork tours, crafts and more. Activities will follow the theme of “Enchantment Under the Sea,” and attendees are encouraged to dress for prom. The event will run from 6 p.m. to midnight at the art museum, located at 700 N. Art Museum Dr. in Milwaukee. Admission costs $9 in advance and $14 at the door.
