  • Friday, July 22  Sobelman’s Tallgrass Burgers will host a burger night for ArtWorks from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 1952 N. Farwell Ave. ArtWorks will receive $1 from every burger purchased during the designated time slot
  • Tuesday, July 26 Northwoods Software, Brown Deer will host a lunch session entitled: Better Nonprofit Websites- 10 steps to Success from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at it’s corporate headquarters 4600 W. Schroeder Drive in Brown Deer. This session shares the techniques and non-profit best practices for an organization website. Session will include examples of: on-line donations and event registrations, money saving ways to better communicate with your constituency, ways visitors can quickly find what they need on your web site and how to build affinity with new audiences to foster support.   • Tuesday, Aug. 23 The ninth annual Guest House Golf Open will be held at the Mequon Country Club from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Lunch, dinner and 18 holes of golf will be provided. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a live and silent auction which includes auction items like Packers memorabilia and Milwaukee Brewer tickets.

  • Sunday, July 31 Sprecher Brewery has teamed up with The Milwaukee Wave, The Milwaukee Admirals, Mid-America Race Car Driver Lyle Nowak and Bikers for Burn Camp to host a fundraiser to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the WI Alliance for Fire Safety from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Rooty the Sprecher Root Beer mascot, Brad Beach of the Milwaukee Wave and Roscoe from the Milwaukee Admirals will all be on hand for the fundraiser from 12 to 7 p.m. The event will feature music and live performances from The Rabid Aardvarks.  Cost to attend is $10 for adults; $8 for kids 16 and over and $5 for kids under 15. Adults 21 and over, will receive unlimited soda, a commemorative tour glass and four 7oz beer samples. Pre-ticket purchasers will also receive one ticket for Germanfest or one ticket for the Wisconsin State Fair. Tickets can be purchased at the Sprecher Gift Shop, 701 W.   • Thursday, Aug. 4 through Sunday, Aug. 7 The Greater Milwaukee Chapter of Parents Of Murdered Children will host the 25Th Annual National Conference of Parents Of Murdered Children at The Wyndham Milwaukee Airport Hotel and Convention Center, located at 4747 S. Howell Ave. Parents of Murdered Children offers support to Parents who have lost a child in a violent manner. The event will feature speakers and workshops as well as a silent auction, raffle and banquet. All branches of the Military will be present to host a POW/MIA Remembrance Table which honors men and women who have given their lives for this country.   • Thursday, Aug. 25 The Milwaukee Center for Independence and the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin will present a seminar entitled “Current Perspectives: Non-Alzheimer’s Dementias” from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the MCFI Conference Center 2020 W. Wells St. During the conference, attendees will learn about other progressive degenerative conditions that cause dementia, as well as the unique needs and challenges associated with them, and ways to best support individuals and families who are dealing with dementia. Diane Mosnik, Ph.D., of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare Neurology, will discuss Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration. Michelle Braun, Ph.d., ABPP-CN, of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare All Saints, will discuss Lewly Body Dementia. Jody Krainer, LCSW, MBA, Director of Senior Services at the Milwaukee Center for Independence, and Krista Scheel, Program Director at the Alzheimer’s Association, Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter, will also speak about community resources for people with dementia and their families.Conference fees are $30 per person and includes breakfast and an attendance certificate and materials.
