  • Thursday, July 14 SUMMIT, the Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce’s young professional’s group, will hold its first annual “Picnic in the Park” event at Wirth Park in Brookfield, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will include a raffle to benefit the Elmbrook Humane Society. Attendees will enjoy the company of adoptable dogs from EHS as well as a networking scavenger hunt, food, and door prizes. Food and supplies sponsored by Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce members Metro Market and Payroll Care LTD, a division of Sitzberger, Widmann & Co. Admission for “Picnic in the Park” is free for Chamber member young professionals ages 21 to 35. Space is limited. Advance registration is required by Tuesday, July 12.   • Monday, July 18 The 8th Annual Journey House Golf Outing will take place Monday at Mequon Country Club, 12400 North Ville Du Parc Drive. The tournament format is a four person scramble with special on-course events, including a hole-in-one contest, and place prizes awarded. The fee is $800 per foursome or $200 per individual will cover golf, lunch and dinner as well as use of the driving range. Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at noon.   • Monday, July 18  The annual Pyramax Bank Four-Ball Golf Challenge to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will take place at Hidden Glen Golf Club in Cedarburg.  In addition to 27 holes of golf, the event  includes breakfast, lunch, on-course contests, raffles, silent auction, and a post-golf reception featuring  dinner, evening cocktails,  live auction and awards presentation.  This unique 27-hole tournament is open to golfers of all levels. The tournament’s handicap system allows all players to compete equitably for amazing prizes and placing.  Proceeds from the event will go to critical life-saving research to help those battling cystic fibrosis, a fatal disease affecting approximately 30,000 children and young adults in the United States.  The fee is $900 per twosome and includes everything.  Registration begins at 7 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m.  To reserve your spot, become a sponsor, or volunteer, call Lola Budzinski at (262) 798-2060, or email lbudzinski@cff.org.
  • Thursday, July 21 The Association for Fundraising Professionals Milwaukee Chapter will host an educational breakfast meeting at the Italian Community Center 631 E. Chicago St., from 8 to 10 a.m. Attendees at the session will learn how to evaluate organizational readiness to launch a planned giving program, ways to identify the planned giving donor, and how to promote and discuss the most prevalent type of planned gift – the bequest – with your individual donors. Jill Heller, owner of Heller Legacy Planning, LLC, a consulting firm that assists individuals and nonprofit organizations to craft charitable gifts of significance will be the featured guest at this event. Heller has been involved in the field of planned giving for 12 years, and holds both a Masters in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
