Newsmaker Luncheons to feature Darling and Pasch

Learn more about:

The Milwaukee Press Club invites the public to attend upcoming Newsmaker Luncheons featuring state Senate candidates Sandy Pasch and Alberta Darling.
Pasch, a Democrat from Whitefish Bay, is challenging Darling, an incumbent Republican from River Hills, in the Aug. 9 recall election.
Polls indicate the race is in a statistical dead heat. The outcome of the race could determine the political balance of power in the Senate.
Pasch will be the featured Newsmaker at a luncheon on Monday, Aug. 1, from 11:45 to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub in downtown Milwaukee at 137 E. Wells St.
Darling will be the featured Newsmaker at a luncheon on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., also at the Newsroom Pub.
Media panels featuring local journalists will ask questions of the candidates at the luncheons. Questions from members of the audience also will be accepted near the conclusion of each luncheon. The events will be moderated by BizTimes executive editor Steve Jagler, a past president of the Milwaukee Press Club.
The Press Club had attempted to present a debate between the two candidates at one setting. Pasch accepted the debate proposal. Darling declined. Thus, the candidates will be presented as Newsmakers on consecutive days.
The Milwaukee Press Club’s Newsmaker Luncheon Series is sponsored by Journal Communications and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The Milwaukee Press Club presents the Newsmaker Luncheons to shed light on issues of the day. The public is invited to attend the luncheons. The cost to attend is $15 for MPC members, $20 for non-members, $10 for students. Lunch is included. Seating will be limited.
